PCHS Robotics
About Our ClubPark City High School Robotics Club was founded in 2011 at Park City High School. Forty students from Treasure Mt Junior High and Park City High have assembled eight official FIRST Tech Challenge robotics teams that participate in the FIRST Tech Challenge Robotics Competition. Our teams have competed at the local, state, regional, and world championship levels.
The Park City High School Robotics Club is one of the most successful organizations in the world thanks to the collaboration with the industry, other FTC Teams, the Park City Education Foundation, our Park City community and families. We could not be where we are today without the dedication, time and commitment from our coaches and mentors, particularly Sheri Prucka.
In the 2018-2019 Rover Ruckus Game, PCHS Robotics Club advanced three teams to the FIRST World Championship: 12384 Checkmate, 12357 Inconceivable, and 5667 Robominers.
During the 2019-2020 Skystone Game, 12383 Checkmate qualified for the FIRST World Championship Houston on April 15-18, 2020, which was sadly canceled due to Covid. 12384 Checkmate also qualified to compete at the Maryland Tech Invitational, originally scheduled for June 19-21, 2020 in Laurel, Maryland, which was also canceled due to Covid.
On Saturday, February 29, 2020, at the Idaho Championship in Nampa, Idaho, four FTC teams from PCHS Robotics Club were among the 32 teams competing. Idaho only advances 1 team to the World Championship, the winner of the Inspire Award. Team #12384 Checkmate won the Inspire Award and would have been at the FTC World Championship Houston on April 15-18, 2020 if it weren't canceled due to Covid.
